NOTIONES at the EU Innovation Hub for Internal Security – Annual Event 2023

On October 3, the 2023 edition of the EU Innovation Hub for Internal Security Annual Event was held in Brussels, Belgium, with focus on “Shaping responsible solutions for internal security”. The event gathered approximately 180 participants, including representatives from multiple EU Agencies, European Commission, and representatives of agencies and institutions from multiple EU Member States as well as Member States Permanent Representations.  During the event, several panels were organized in order to promote discussion on key topics for Security, such as key enabling technologies, regulatory sandboxes, encryption, access to data, and the uptake of EU security research outputs. The event was organized in line with the main goal of this Innovation Hub, a cross-sectorial EU platform that aims to ensure the coordination and collaboration between all innovation actors of the wider field of the internal security.

As part of the event, Polícia Judiciária alongside other security practitioners were invited to present some of their innovative projects to the audience present in the event, with goal of disseminating current on-going innovative initiatives as well as to enhance cooperative activities with external stakeholders. In this sense, Polícia Judiciária was able to present some of the innovation projects of its portfolio, including the NOTIONES project, where promotional material was also distributed to the participants of the event in order to enhance the dissemination of the project.
